Miami is full of incredible food and delicious cocktails in so many distinctly different neighborhoods. How on earth do you choose the best ones? Max and I explored a number of different neighborhoods to find the best restaurants with the best ambiance, so if you’re looking for good food, check out these hot spots.
Le Jardinier
Do not judge a book by its cover!! Le Jardinier may seem like an odd choice since it’s situated in a mall, but the ambiance inside and the food more than make up for its odd location. Le Jardinier features veggie-forward dishes and gluten-free bread (that taste like any ol’ bread) and is a delicious medley of flavors.
The decor is beautiful and modern with an art-deco twist, transporting you into an elegant and timeless evening of down-to-earth food with impeccable flavor. While the menu changes often, we received amazing recommendations from our waiter. Much to my personal delight, as a dairy-free diner, they had so many desserts I could indulge in. Everything from the food, to the cocktails, to the service was an absolute delight.
Juvia South Beach
Juvia has, arguably, one of the best views in South Beach. Towering over Lincoln Road, the expansive ocean and boardwalk views are unbeatable. Juvia makes up the entire rooftop of the building with both indoor and outdoor spaces. We were seated outside next to the water feature (complete with a floating LED rubber duck) and with an incredible view. Chill music bumps from the DJ booth, but not loud enough to be bother. One cocktail in and it’s already the best sundowner you could ask for in Miami.
Our favorite dishes were the Wagyu dumplings, Octopus and the short ribs. We’d highly recommend ordering at least 3 dishes per person…and at least a few cocktails ;).
Dolce Italian South Beach
We stumbled upon the adorable Dolce Italian, located at the Gale in South Beach. The setting is so spectacular, with a beautiful and expansive outdoor area with twinkling lights in the trees. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. The location is such that the people watching is so much fun. The restaurant’s located on the main Collins Ave, making it the ideal place to pop in for a delicious meal and good people-watching.
Our favorite dishes were the pastas and pizzas (of course). They also have a happy hour from 4-7 daily, so worth checking out!
Area 31
Area 31 is located in the Kimpton EPIC Hotel on the 16th floor. With stunning views of the canals and bay, Area 31’s location is hard to beach in the Brickell neighborhood. Our recommendation is to have dinner here, rather than brunch, as the views and service far exceeded the brunch service. The food is excellent, and we highly recommend the Risotto, Pork Belly and NY Strip.
They too have an excellent happy hour Monday-Thursday in the bar from 5-7 that’s worth checking out.
The Egg Spot
If you’re looking for a super casual, and delicious, breakfast or lunch, check out The Egg Spot on 1st street in Miami. This is one of those “don’t just a book by its cover” spots, because the food is phenomenal, and plentiful. Whether it’s the Son of a Butcher burger or breakfast, you will not go wrong. They also have a wide variety of hot sauces made locally in Miami, which we highly recommend testing out on your food.
